Rice Straw Incorporation that expedites planting, produces high yields and is good for the environment.
Rice Straw Incorporation, or “stomping” for short, provides nutrients to the soil and eliminates straw - accelerating planting and reducing nitrogen tie-up during the growing season.
The idea for “stomping” began in our own rice farm. After pressures from banning rice straw burning began to be implemented in 1991, we started to think of a more efficient way to prepare fields after harvest. After 10 years of trial and error and pulling ideas from past iterations, we arrived at what we call “The Stomper” - a redesigned tractor that has become one of the cornerstones of our farming business.
The first stomper had humble beginnings — and countless times stuck in the mud.
We’ve come a long way from our first designs and attempts to create the perfect stomper. There have been challenges and obstacles along the way, but hard work, dedication and belief in the idea allowed us to push past those challenges and build something that benefits our farm and the valley around it.
Studies show the potential benefits. Our practices prove them..
Studies have outlined the benefits that using the “stomping” process can prepare rice farms to plant sooner, and utilize the most of nitrogen within the soil - all resulting in greater soil fertility.
